*Beading Granny*

In Memory of Tiffany Nicole Long

Ten Years Later:

1/12/88 - 10/16/98

Hearts were broken, torn in two

A community left in fear

Tragedy struck, all was lost

When reality did appear

Three local teens were at fault

Taking a life so young and new

So close to home in an abandoned house

Just down the avenue

Three scared teens ran away

Leaving her beaten and tied up

A sunny day in October

A sense of tragedy did develop.

Lifeless and bound there she laid

That child of ten years old

Police investigates and captured the three

Questions them as their tales were told

Tonight while the family thinks back

Ten years ago it seems

That it was only yesterday

The three tore apart their dreams.

Amazing how long it has been since this tragedy hit our community and ten years ago we thought the days went by too slow and we had to think of this happening to a child such as this! Oh my, she would have been 2o years old now, maybe graduated from High School - went on to College or do you suppose she would be married maybe with a child of her own! Amazing how you think - she never got that chance. She was stripped of her life too young. Such a tragedy as this that stunned the people in this community and the state, basically all over the globe! So many read about this happening to this child and how the accused teens gave up their freedom for lockup. It is too sad a situation for anyone to have this happen in their lives.

Ten years later; there are so many crimes committed by our younger generation. How sad is it to pick up the paper every morning and read about a break in, robbery or assault that is usually done by a teenager. Too many and much too young to give up their lives to be in the correctional systems. I hope and prayer for peace and prosperity for our young people.

No Chance

You never had the chance

To explore this world at all

So little time was given

Before your final call

You never got the chance

To face your teenage years

Your life was taken tragically

As families shed their tears.

No chance to gather knowledge

With your friends you played and dreamed

You left from here much to quickly

Your years weren’t even deemed.

You’re thought of much to often

And missed so everyday

No chance now to hold you

And love you our special way.

Your Family,
